VAMPIRE CHRONICLES
According to Bloody-Disgusting
Universal Pictures is going to reboot Anne Rice's "The Vampire Chronicles" and is
in talks with Robert Downey Jr. to play the vampire Lestat Du Lioncort!
Lestat was previously played by Tom Cruise in the 1994 adaptation of Rice's INTERVIEW
WITH THE VAMPIRE, which co-starred Brad Pitt, Christian Slater and Kirsten Dunst.
Stuart Townsend later played Lestat in the 2002 film QUEEN OF THE DAMNED, which
co-starred Aaliyah and took elements from the author's "The Vampire Lestat" and
"The Queen of the Damned."
The series of novels also includes "The Tale of the Body Thief," "Memnoch the Devil,"
"The Vampire Armand," "Merrick," "Blood and Gold," "Blackwood Farm" and "Blood Canticle."
Downey Jr. recently wrapped IRON MAN 2 and has SHERLOCK HOLMES arriving on Christmas
Day.
PREDATORS
Production Weekly says that director Nimrod Antal is scheduled to beging filming
PREDATORS on September 28 at Robert Rodriguez's Troublemaker Studios in Austin,
Texas. Produced by Rodriguez, the new film is said to involve a very intense
group of people stranded on a Predator planet discovering unspeakable horrors -
that are not always from outside their group.
20th Century Fox is releasing the sci-fi action-adventure, written by Alex Litvak
and Michael Finch, on July 7, 2010.
STRAW DOGS
According to ComingSoon.net, Director Rod Lurie (The Contender, Nothing But the
Truth) is well into rehearsals on his version of Sam Peckinpah's STRAW DOGS, which
is scheduled for release on February 25, 2011.
James Marsden, Kate Bosworth and Alexander Skarsgard were announced as the principal
cast over the last few months and recently, Walton Goggins from "The Shield" was
announced as having joined the project.
Over the past month, Lurie has been posting random, somewhat vague updates on his
Facebook page about progress on the project, the most recent one revealing two more
of the cast: "Beginning stunt rehearsals today with James Woods and Dominic Purcell."
Dominic Purcell was the star of the popular Fox show PRISON BREAK and legendary
actor James Woods last appeared in David Zucker's controversial AN AMERICAN CAROL,
but hasn't been making too many live action movie appearances in recent years.
THE GHOST
The first trailer for Roman Polanski's next film, THE GHOST, is here. From Summit
Entertainment comes a story that centers on a ghostwriter who is hired to complete
the memoirs of a former British prime minister. He uncovers secrets that put his
own life in jeopardy. Most of the story takes place in an oceanfront house during
the middle of winter.
The film is set for theaters in 2010 and stars Ewan McGregor, Kim Cattrall, Olivia
Williams, Jim Belushi, Robert Pugh, Tom Wilkinson and Pierce Brosnan.

ASKED & ANSWERED: PART 3
Rants, religion, money, sex and Star Trek...just a few of the topics covered in
the most volatile release of the entire Asked & Answered series.
Part 3 (pages 779-1,183) includes more than 1,100 missives grouped into the following –
often heated – topics:
RANTS - This is JMS unplugged. He shares his thoughts – unfiltered and often
exasperated – on a breadth of topics including: the sound in space issue, comparisons
of Babylon 5 to Shakespeare, Lord of the Rings, Dune and every other saga of any import,
atheism, language and culture, the idea that a five-year arc prohibits the organic
development of a story, the perils of being the topic of an online forum, religion
in Babylon 5, predictability of stories, why he almost quit the online community
forever, why the tone of his online posts changed over the years, and how he really
feels about people expressing an opinion that conflicts with his.

If you had the means, would you pay $225,000 a bottle for tequila?
In July 2263, Garibaldi embarks on a secret project to reverse-engineer Minbari

Star ships. Did this lead to the construction of Excalibur, and the larger cruiser

Deep Geeking: Tim and Summer disagree on “Day of the Dead”, and boy, do we chat
about THAT difference of opinion! Written by Neil Gaiman, it’s the first produced
episode not written by JMS since Season 2 (since “Knives”?).
Tim thinks it’s a weak effort, and Summer thinks it’s one of the better episodes
of Season 5 (and everyone knows how Summer feels about most of Season 5). But
Summer still calls shenanigans on Tim’s refusal to accept quantum physics as a
way to explain how that section of B5 becomes linked to the Brakiri homeworld.
Would seeing Marcus have made more of an impact on Lennier than seeing Morden?
Would that appearance have co-opted the hope that Marcus was not dead, but in

It has been a while since we talked BABYLON 5 favorites. Let's see what we can come up
with! How about favorite line? I know, this is not easy, but is there one or two lines
that just scream BABYLON 5 for you? I think one of mine would be "Alone in the night."
When you hear that line, don't you hear Sinclair saying it? What is your favorite?

“Last year we debuted our Motion Comics slate and saw the voracious appetite graphic
novel fans had for this digital content,” said Diane Nelson, president, Warner Premiere.
“One of the reasons for our success is Warner Premiere working closely with DC Comics
to determine if a story naturally lends itself to becoming a motion comic. Another
key is the process we use to select the studios that ultimately create these motion

really are a labor of love. We’re very proud of our success and look forward to
bringing more titles to comic fans in the future.”

REVIEW:
I got to see an advance copy of this DVD and was totally blown away by it. It tells the
story of GREEN LANTERN in an honest and exciting way. It takes you to the beginning, shows
you how Hal Jordan was selected by a dying Green Lantern and how he had to prove himself
to the others as Guardians of the Universe. The story is good and the animation is
wonderful. The voice actors are marvelous: Christopher Meloni is the voice of GREEN
LANTERN; Victor Garber is deliciously sly and evil as SINESTRO. BATTLESTAR GALACTICA's
Tricia Helfer is BOODIKKA. I loved KILOWOG played by Michael Madsen.
If you love comic books, this version of GREEN LANTERN is sure to please.
There were a few words I wish had been left out of the script and at times there seemed to
be a lot of fighting, so parents might want to watch this one before showing it to more
impressionalbe children.

REVIEW:
This is one of those shows that has grown better over time. We've seen George Clooney
launch his career on this show. Season 11 includes Ray Liotta's emmy winning episode
"Time of Death", a real time episode following the final 43 minutes of his character's
life. Also during this season, Alex Kingston, Ming Na and Noah Wyle exit County General.
The show continues to have wonderful guest stars including Red Buttons, Danny Glover,
Cynthia Nixon, Francis Fisher and Sharif Atkins.
While the staff holds many of the plots together, ER includes some of the most
memorable patient storylines. New doc Ray Barnett (Shane West) juggles medicine
and music, Sam and Luka continue their turbulent relationship, and Corday is
punished for performing an illegal operation.
It is good to see that the series are now coming out more quickly. You have less
time to wait to see this favorite series -- on your schedule.

Looking for movies you can watch with your children? I have moved many of the
family-oriented DVDs to a
Family DVDs page. Here you will find wonderful DVDs you can enjoy with your entire
family -- no matter the age. You will find background information about the DVD, but there
are clips as well from Warner Bros. Enjoy!

BABYLON 5 MUSIC VIDEOS AND TRIBUTES
I found this message on the Babylon 5 moderated newsgroup this morning and just
had to post it so that others might enjoy the marvelous music videos created by
John Hudgens.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++
As some of you may know, I was hired by Joe Straczynski back in the
day to create Babylon 5 music videos for him to use at science fiction
conventions, and later to promote the show to networks. Eight were
produced over the run of the series, not including the memorial videos
I did later for Rick Biggs and Andreas Katsulas.
For the longest time, the only way to see these was if Joe or I showed
them at a convention, but now, after numerous requests from fans over
the years, Joe has given me permission me to post these online.
- This is the extended version that I did for Andreas' widow ater the
original cut was released on the net. It's never been seen online
until now.
For those of you who've never seen these, I hope you enjoy them - and
for those that have (and emailed me many times over the years about
releasing them), I hope they're as good as you remember. Working with
Joe on these videos was one of the highlights of my career, and I'll
be forever grateful to him for the doors these have opened for me. I'm
proud to have them on my resume.

RED CIRCLE: THE HANGMAN #1
Written by J. Michael Straczynski; Art by Tom Derenick and Bill Sienkiewicz; Cover
by Jesus Saiz.
J. Michael Straczynski dives into the DC Universe, bringing four of the finest
heroes of the Golden and Silver Ages with him! Completely reimagined for the modern
world from their original appearances in Archie/MLJ publications, these four heroes
will show you a side of the DC Universe you've never seen before! The Civil War
claimed many lives…but one of those lives still hasn't ended! Union doctor Robert
Dickering found himself on the wrong side of the battle lines, and despite his heroic
treatment of a fallen enemy soldier, he also found himself on the wrong end of a
noose! But a shadowy power stepped forth in the twilight moments between life and
death and offered him a deal he couldn't refuse: to forever roam the Earth, saving
the lives of innocents condemned like himself – or hastening the deaths of the guilty!
But in taking the seemingly righteous mission of the Hangman, has he accepted God's
work? Or has he become the vengeful fist of the Devil himself?
