Again, WELCOME!
Rising Stars has done *extremely* well for Top Cow, to the point where they asked me if I'd like my own imprint. I said I'd be flattered. They wanted to know what we should call it. I looked around at all the other heightened titles -- Chaos, Awesome, Megadeathtech kinds of titles designed to be impressive and massive -- and said, "How about just...Joe's Comics?" As in, "I'd like some of Joe's Comics," or "Read at Joe's," with a big 1950s diner clock logo. They thought it was a great idea.
So the imprint starts this fall: mini-series, maxi-series, one shots and the like, which I'll write and TC will print. The basic deal is: I write whatever I want, and they publish it. It's a terrific deal, and the TC folks are amazing to work with.
For more in depth info, see the Wizard issue.
(More announcements to come soon, including prose stuff, web stuff, and the reason I was on a soundstage today watching my words being filmed.)

Good hunting. Now go forth and multiply! --Armen Kurdian
Peter Woodward will join Bruce Boxleitner, Mira Furlan, Congressional candidate Jerry Doyle, Jeff Conaway, and Stephen Austin will be there! Details are on the calendar.
There are other sites like this -- perhaps even YOUR site -- that I'd like to highlight. Send along information about a site you particularly enjoy -- or one you'd like to share with other Babylon 5 fans. Just drop me a note and we'll highlight it on the front page.
Looks like April/May/June are going to be a banner months. Peter's next novel, the CINEFANTASTIQUE issue on Babylon 5, the last Official Babylon 5 magazine, and JMS' last story in "Amazing Stories"!
Maybe putting a call out to Babylon 5 fans to ask that they "front" Babylon 5 books in their local bookstores, and ask that they be featured more prominently. By "fronting", I mean to turn them from spine-on view to face-on view, to increase their visibility. Spine-on, all paperbacks look the same. This only works for books that they have a few of, since four paperbacks makes a cube shape, and therefore takes up the same amount of space spine-on vs. face-on.
It would certainly help if Del Rey would send along some book displays to bookstores -- especially the larger ones. Doing a little advertising certainly wouldn't hurt the cause!
Anyway, if you would like to support Jerry in his bid for Congress, send in a donation to his campaign before May 15.

"In 1987 and 1988, I had two novels published consecutively, DEMON NIGHT and OTHERSYDE. Subsequent to that, I fell down the TV hole and never had time to even try to write another novel, though I did do the occasional article and short story, including one mystery novelette in the anthology Blowout in Little Man Flats.
Knowing that the TV season is going to start gearing up soon (June-October is prime hiring season for show runners), I decided I may not have another chance anytime soon...and have just completed my first new novel in 12 years.
It's now gone off to my NY agent (the LA agency loves it as a possible feature), and we will see what we will see. It's a contemporary mystery/noire thriller with supernatural overtones, set in LA, and weighs in at just under 100,000 words. With luck, we can get this thing out by the Fall, assuming the planned auction goes well."
"In an auction, the book goes out to X number of publishers, who have until Y date to respond with an offer. Best offer gets it."
"Just a note in response to those who've asked about what's coming up next for me that's non-B5 in nature...along with the just completed novel, there are a number of things that I've signed to do that I haven't been able to talk about, but will be able to start releasing some of that information here over the next few weeks, so stay tuned...."
So far, we have clubs listed from France, Germany and Italy! That's fantastic. Let's hear from others -- even those in the U.S.!!!
A word of caution on autographs! Be careful where you purchase your photos! There are some unethical types out there who will sell you a photo with an autograph already on it! The signature is part of the photo -- it has NOT been individually signed by a cast member! That is NOT an autographed photo!
When purchasing a photo, be sure to either get a certificate of authenticity or ask the person where the photo was signed. You might also make sure that it was NOT personalized! Otherwise you'll wind up with a photo that says Dear Bill -- when your name is Sally! It's still a good picture, but ....

JMS gives us a snapshot of how he writes "Rising Stars" in the JMS Speaks section. It's an interesting read, so don't miss it.
This section has a lot of information, directly from JMS. Read about working with WB in the early days of the show; his upcoming "Amazing Stories" short story and production of "Rising Stars". What does he think of Jerry's upcoming campaign? Check out the latest in the JMS Speaks section.
Daniel Kim is working on a Murder, She Wrote movie of the week. Guess who the writer is? Yes, none other than J. Michael Straczynski.
According to The HOLLYWOOD REPORTER, Gary Cole (Crusade, American Gothic, The Brady Bunch Movie) will play Clark Griswold in the FOX pilot NATIONAL LAMPOON'S FAMILY VACATION.
From a Dr. Who newsletter:
* PETER JURASIK, who starred for five years on television's "Babylon 5" as Ambassador Londo Mollari, will provisionally feature as a guest star in the forthcoming "Winter for the Adept" playing the role of Lieutenant Sandoz. (This is an audio tape episode of the Dr. Who series.) Also featured in the story is Sally Faulkner, who portrayed Isobel Watkins in the Doctor Who serial "The Invasion". Additional cast members include Liz Sutherland, India Fisher, Hannah Dickinson and Chris Webber, joining Peter Davison and Sarah Sutton as the Doctor and Nyssa. (Incidentally, no other "B5" actors have been approached, contrary to reports elsewhere on the Internet.)
Stephen Furst will provide one of the voices for one of the Space Rangers in the upcoming "Buzz Lightyear of Star Command'' coming to ABC and UPN in October. Walt Disney Television Animation is producing 65 episodes of ``Buzz'' -- 52 for UPN's ``Disney's One Too'' and 13 for ABC's Saturday morning lineup. Read all about it at http://dailynews.yahoo.com/h/nm/20000303/en/television-lightyear_1.html.
Peter Woodward has won a part in an upcoming pilot entitled "MK3", a contempory version of "The Three Musketeers". Peter will play the 'Richelieu' role. It is being produced by Warner Brothers for Fox, hopefully for the fall season.

If you have magazines that have featured Babylon 5 or Crusade that are not listed, send along their issue number and a note to indicate what the article was about. It would be nice to have a fairly comprehensive listing of Babylon 5 publications here.

I have a question about conventions. I may have a
chance to go to Marcon (Columbus, Oh) this year. They don't
have anything about B5 that I can see. But I thought some
people might be interested to know that Eugene Roddenberry, Jr. will be
there, as well as Da'an and Auger (Earth: Final Conflict).
